Carnival DNGN is a passion project that was co-founded by Michaela Winters in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

After Michaela had been hosting conscious play parties and sex-positive education events for over 6 years, she noticed a huge niche in the industry of bdsm, kink, and sacred sexuality that wasn’t being offered anywhere she looked; events that prioritized safety & consent, sobriety (no alcohol or drugs), and were education-based. A place to not only play, but to learn and implement practices and embodiment LIVE in the moment, as you were learning it.

She aimed to create an event that was an equal part educational and immersive. She saw a huge need for spaces that were neutrally informative about the lifestyle of BDSM & Kink, that also integrated a more “conscious” intentional approach to sex-positive events. In December of 2022, the first Carnival DNGN was born. It was an intimate, invite-only group of 30 people and 2 facilitators. Over the year’s, it has grown into a quarterly event of 150 attendees and 40+ facilitators and staff!

In November 2023, Michaela returned to Boulder, Colorado, and decided to rebrand the quarterly main event to Carnival DNGN: The Experience, bringing it to the Boulder community for the first time. Since bringing Carnival DNGN to Boulder, Michaela has grown the brand to offer not just the community-based quarterly main event, but various 1-off specialized workshops, x3 3-Day educational weekend immersions (Awaken Your Dom, Awaken Your Sub, and Awaken Your Edge), as well as a 7-Day deep dive retreat.

Carnival DNGN: The Experience prides itself on being a community-based event that supports local sex-positive healers, practitioners, and facilitators in connecting with local community members seeking education and healing.

So what exactly IS this event?:

Carnival DNGN is an exclusive, private, invite-only, intimate, sober, consciousness-based, 6-hour immersive experience designed to take you on a journey through the recreational and therapeutic arts of BDSM & KINK.

This event is a cross between a party/social gathering, an educational workshop, an adult playground, a human laboratory, an interactive immersive experience, a BDSM/Kink Dungeon, and a performative show. You will be able to meet others in the broader local sex-positive community, watch performances & demos, participate in interactive stations and hands-on experiences with local experts, explore your deepest desires and darkest fantasies, enjoy aphrodisiac mocktails & elixirs, play with new friends and old, and learn more about your own pleasure, pain, fantasies, and desires!
